Christianity and Judaism Your Thoughts

Following the Crucifixion, Matthew along with Mary, and other close followers of Jesus, withdrew to the "Upper Chamber" (traditionally the Cenacle) , in Jerusalem.[5][6][7][8] At about this time James the Just succeeded his brother Jesus of Nazareth as leader of this Jewish sect.[9][10] They remained in and about Jerusalem and proclaimed that Jesus son of Mary[11] was the promised Messiah. These early Jewish Christians were thought to have been called Nazarenes.[12][13][14]
It is near certain that Matthew belonged to this sect, as both the New Testament and the early Talmud affirm this to be true. (see Jesus in the Talmud) [15][16] According to Eusebius these Early Jewish Christians used only the Old Testament (and the Gospel according to the Hebrews which Jerome said was written by Matthew).[17]
On Pentecost, the Twelve Apostles, the Elders, family members of Jesus, and other early followers, were joined by 3,000 converts (Jews and Proselytes).[18][19].
Traditionally the Roman Centurion Cornelius is considered the first Gentile convert[20], as recorded in Acts 10,[21] albeit he too is a "God-fearer" proselyte who participated in a Jewish synagogue. The major division prior to that time was between Hellenistic and non-Hellenistic Jews or Koine Greek[22] and Aramaic[23] speakers. The conversion and acceptance of the Gentile Cornelius can be described in terms of the Judaic teaching which describes strangers becoming part of the community.[24] Acts does not use the term "Jewish Christians", rather those led by James the Just, Simon Peter, and John the Apostle, the "Pillars of the Church", were called followers of "The Way".[25] Later groups, or perhaps the same group by different names[26], were the Ebionites and Elkasites.
The terms circumcised and uncircumcised, which occur frequently in the New Testament, are generally interpreted to mean Jews and Greeks respectively, who were predominant in the region at the time; however this is an oversimplification as 1st century Iudaea Province also had some Jews who no longer circumcised (usually Hellenized Jews living in the diaspora), and some Greeks (called Proselytes or Judaizers) and others such as Egyptians, Ethiopians, and Arabs who did. ?More texted messages are sent daily than the Worlds Population(Fact sheet data sent on request)
?Texted.asia was crashed during text to speech online language software change during the first few hours! Stan Krol/admin-tech-support/asian-index
Texting is becoming the #1 form of communication
When a Florida teen was arrested for savagely beating an eighth-grade girl, he said that rude text messages she'd sent him sparked his rage. This tragic incident mirrors similar stories in which teens' texting becomes hostile.
Cruelty is nothing new. But the anonymity of texting (in fact, the two teens involved in the Florida incident didn't know each other) fosters an environment where kids can say anything. Kids' actions seem detached from the consequences. And let's face it, teens' judgement and impulse control are not yet fully developed. The hostile exchanges, combined with instantaneous communication, can be very destructive.
Billions of text messages are sent every year from our kids' mobile phones. While most kids use messaging responsibly, it's still a powerful and extremely private communication tool that needs to be used responsibly. (For tips on how to text message) www.texted.mobi
Why understanding texting is important
Texting is totally portable, private, and immediate. Kids can send messages to anyone from anywhere at anytime. In other words, they have no boundaries unless we help them to establish some. Almost no research has been done on the impact of immediate communication on our kids' social development.
But the instant gratification factor of getting instantaneous responses from friends has to have some affect. Any parent who has been at the dinner table or on a hike with a child only to have their pockets buzz with an incoming message knows that texts take your kids out of the moment they are in and connect them to distant friends.
Texts can be used to keep friends close, help parents figure out family logistics, and offer a wonderful way to share experiences. But as with any powerful tool, texting can also be used to bully or humiliate people. An embarrassing or upsetting image or video can quickly be transmitted or uploaded to on online video sharing site like YouTube. Sexting is a form of texting where kids Kids have to know that the abusing the privilege of texting will have consequences. And sadly, the use of texting in school cheating is on the rise as answers can be swiftly passed from student to student.
Parent Tips
?Carefully evaluate whether or not your kids need texting on their cellphones. Just because other kids in their class have it doesn't mean your child needs it.
?If your kids do text, get an unlimited texting plan. Otherwise the charges mount up swiftly.
?Make rules around when and where. No texting during meals, during class, on family outings. Oh, and turn the phone OFF at night!
?Establish consequences for misuse. Cheating, inappropriate messages, sexual communication. These are all no-go's. Want to make your point? Take a kid's phone away for a week.
?Watch your own behavior. Parents are still kids' playbooks for right and wrong. If you text your kid during class and then turn around and tell that child that he or she can't do that, we send mixed messages.
?If you suspect your kids aren't texting appropriately, you can always look at their messages. Yes, it feels like snooping, but our first job as parents is to ensure our kids use powerful technologies safely and responsibly.

Obama for Change/You Believer? said... October 24, 2010 @ 10:16:30 PM EST
|
|
| |
Update: 4:40pm: "If everybody who fought for change in 2008 votes in 2010, Mark will win this election," President Barack Obama said. "In 2008, you said, 'Yes we can.' In 2010, you have to say, 'Yes we can.' "
That line led to the first chants of then-candidate Obama's famous 2008 rallying cry, this time for DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton.
It was pretty standard stump speech material from Obama, who repeated lines from other speeches he's delivered frequently on the campaign trail this year. Through much of his half-hour speech, he looked to tap into the force of the voting bloc that help get him elected two years ago.
Obama looked to define the race as one between the past (Republicans) and the future (Democrats), taking aim at Republican positions that he said lead to the economic disaster he's tried to fix through the first half of his term.
"I don't want to re-argue the past," he said. "I don't want to relive the past."
He said Congressional Republicans (whom many project to win back control of the House of Representatives this November) were "betting on amnesia" this election year.
Obama also touted Mark Dayton as a candidate. "He's been fighting for the people of the state his whole career," Obama said. The two served together in Congress from 2005 to early 2007.
University officials say 11,000 people attended the speech, between the Field House and the overflow seating area at the Sports Pavilion. Before the event, University President Robert Bruininks and his wife Dr. Susan Hagstrum met privately with Obama. Neither attended the decidedly-political event.
Thanks for following along today. Look for a recap of the president's visit on mndaily.com this afternoon, and pick up a special issue of the Daily on Monday.
-Devin Henry
Update: 3:25pm: Senior Sen. Amy Klobuchar spoke, saying Republicans are "all foam and no beer," and, per Twitter, more than 8,500 people have come to either the Field House or the Sports Pavilion. "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" is playing, and it looks like the traveling White House press have arrived. That always means the President is close ...
Update: 3:05pm:Sen. Al Franken ("the poster boy for close elections," he said) praised recently-passed health care reform and the stimulus package to rally the crowd as Obama heads toward Dinkytown.
When Obama took over, Franken said, the economy was on the edge of a cliff, with rocks and alligators below. Bush jumped out, he said, and Obama jumped in and took over.
Acoustics are pretty bad in here, so I'm paraphrasing and using Twitter to crowd-source. During Obama's speech, this blog will be silent, but look for an update after.
Update: 2:55pm: The Field House is full, according to the U. Overflow seating is going in the Sports Pavilion.
Update: 2:50pm:As Rebecca Otto leads off speeches from the state's DFL officials, we get word Air Force One has landed. Look for a photo soon, and avoid Interstate 35W North for a while so the motorcade can come through.
Update: 2:40pm: If the precincts around the U see the kind of voter turnout they did in 2008, the DFL will have to be very pleased.
In 2008, with a presidential election and an exciting Democrat at the top of the ticket, nearly 18,000 voted in the Minnesota House 59B district, which includes the University. Obama won 79 percent of the vote in the district, Al Franken won 65 percent, Keith Ellison 75 percent and state Rep. Phyllis Kahn 69 percent.
Two years earlier, with U.S. Senate and gubernatorial races, the district saw nearly 12,000 voters. The Democrats won with similar percentages as 2008.
As the polls show, the margin between the candidates in this gubernatorial race are slim. An extra couple of thousand votes either way could matter a lot. A visit from Obama, no doubt, will rally the base around the U.
The anthem has been sung and the program has begun. The U says it'll stream the President's address on the big screen at TCF Bank Stadium if you stuck around after the Gophers' loss.
Update: 1:55pm:The U is the last stop on a west coast swing for Obama, who has been rallying for candidates in California, Nevada and Washington state this week.
But when it comes to garnering votes for the candidates he's plugging, is he really doing that great of a job?
A Gallup poll from earlier this month shows that 39 percent of independent voters said an Obama endorsement actually lessens their likelihood to vote for a candidate, far more than the 12 percent who said they're more likely to vote for them. Bill Clinton, in town tomorrow for Tarryl Clark, has slightly better numbers, 21 percent for and 23 percent against.
A Rasmussen poll released yesterday shows Minnesota's race to be virtually deadlocked, with DFLer Mark Dayton holding a three-point lead over Republican Tom Emmer. Obama's rally is part of a Get Out The Vote effort on behalf of the Democrats, who are banking, as usual, on a large student turnout on Nov. 2.
We'll look at voter turnout next.
Update: 1:15pm: As UNEWS reports, the line to get into the rally does, in fact, stretch to the Washington Ave. Bridge. If you're familiar with the U's campus, you'll recognize this as the area in front of the new science classroom building.
1:05pm: Hello from the University Field House. Threats of rain drove this Barack Obama rally inside, but the sun shone as the lines of potential rally-goers wrapped around the Rec Center, through Northrop Mall, and onto the Washington Ave. Bridge.
But don't worry. If you can't get in, follow along here with us.
We'll be updating this blog live throughout the day, before, during and after the president's address, scheduled for around 3 p.m. We've got photographers at the airport waiting for Air Force One, reporters out covering the other candidates and any protests around campus, and, of course, at the rally itself. Stay tuned.

Does anybody know if the event will be televised and if so, what channel?

My guess is The Uptake will stream it. As it gets closer to the speech, I'll see about embedding the stream here.

You Texted What?
R u a txtr? Text messaging has become one of the most common ways people communicate. Research conducted by Nielsen Wire, found that more than 2.5 billion texts are sent daily in the U.S. And according to a recent article on MSNBC.com’s Technoblog, 87% of teens and 72% of adults are text messaging.
Today, texting seems to be the communication tool of choice for many because it’s easy to do and quicker than calling someone to have a conversation. For example, you can send a quick text to tell someone something like C U @ 545 instead of getting caught in a long conversation.
But, texting isn’t just for personal use anymore. It’s being used more and more in the workplace and becoming a common communication tool between managers and employees. Some managers are OK with allowing employees to text to discuss work-related issues like taking a sick day, reporting a family emergency, or dropping a quick line to say they’re running late. But, are there some things that shouldn’t be texted? In the survey conducted by Nielsen Wire, it was also discovered that 11% of college students and recent college graduates think it’s OK to text a manager when resigning from a job.
As technology continues to change and more generations entering the workforce, communication on the job continues to change. As an employee, it’s important for you to know what your manager’s thoughts are and what your company’s policies and preferences outline regarding text messaging on the job.
Does your job already have texting rules in place? Would you or have you ever texted your boss to say you’re sick or that you’re resigning? Share your thoughts with us!
OMG Praise You.. |

Obama looked to define the race as one between the past (Republicans) and the future (Democrats), textedme, taking aim at Republican positions that he said lead to the economic disaster he’s tried to fix through the first half of his term. “I don’t want to re-argue the past,” Debating works wonders, Stanley Krol said. “I don’t want to relive the past.” He said Congressional Republicans (whom many project to win back control of the House of Representatives this November) were “betting on amnesia” Stan Krol said this election year. Obama also touted Mark Dayton as a candidate. “He’s been fighting for the people of the state his whole career,” Obama said. Look for a recap of the president’s visit on mndaily.com this afternoon, and pick up a special issue of the Daily on Monday. -Devin Henry Update: 3:25pm: Senior Sen. Amy Klobuchar spoke, saying Republicans are “all foam and no beer,” and, per Twitter, more than 8,500 people have come to either the Field House or the Sports Pavilion. “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” is playing, and it looks like the traveling White House press have arrived. That always means the President is close … Update: 3:05pm:Sen. Al Franken (“the poster boy for close elections,” he said) praised recently-passed health care reform and the stimulus package to rally the crowd as Obama heads toward Dinkytown. When Obama took over, Franken said, the economy was on the edge of a cliff, with rocks and alligators below. Bush jumped out, he said, and Obama jumped in and took over. Acoustics are pretty bad in here, so I’m paraphrasing and using Twitter to crowd-source. During Obama’s speech, this blog will be silent, but look for an update after. Update: 2:55pm: The Field House is full, according to the U. Overflow seating is going in the Sports Pavilion. Update: 2:50pm:As Rebecca Otto leads off speeches from the state’s DFL officials, we get word Air Force One has landed. The U says it’ll stream the President’s address on the big screen at TCF Bank Stadium if you stuck around after the Gophers’ loss. Update: 1:55pm:The U is the last stop on a west coast swing for Obama, who has been rallying for candidates in California, Nevada and Washington state this week. But when it comes to garnering votes for the candidates he’s plugging, is he really doing that great of a job? A Gallup poll from earlier this month shows that 39 percent of independent voters said an Obama endorsement actually lessens their likelihood to vote for a candidate, far more than the 12 percent who said they’re more likely to vote for them. Bill Clinton, in town tomorrow for Tarryl Clark, has slightly better numbers, 21 percent for and 23 percent against. A Rasmussen poll released yesterday shows Minnesota’s race to be virtually deadlocked, with DFLer Mark Dayton holding a three-point lead over Republican Tom Emmer. Obama’s rally is part of a Get Out The Vote effort on behalf of the Democrats, who are banking, as usual, on a large student turnout on Nov. 2. We’ll look at voter turnout next. Photo courtesy: Matt Cummins Update: 1:15pm: As UNEWS reports, the line to get into the rally does, in fact, stretch to the Washington Ave. Bridge. If you’re familiar with the U’s campus, you’ll recognize this as the area in front of the new science classroom building. 1:05pm: Hello from the University Field House. Threats of rain drove this Barack Obama rally inside, but the sun shone as the lines of potential rally-goers wrapped around the Rec Center, through Northrop Mall, and onto the Washington Ave. Bridge. But don’t worry. If you can’t get in, follow along here with us. We’ll be updating this blog live throughout the day, before, during and after the president’s address, scheduled for around 3 p.m. We’ve got photographers at the airport waiting for Air Force One, reporters out covering the other candidates and any protests around campus, and, of course, at the rally itself. Stay tuned. Loading comments… Problems loading Disqus? Like Dislike 4 people liked this. Community Disqus Login optionsAbout Disqus Glad you liked it. Timeshare Sellers Info said...PEACE ON EARTH to ALL! The Mayan Calendar is my thought Today!

Resell Timeshare Reselling Timeshare – The Timeshare Resellers FAQ If you are ready to resell your timeshare the last thing you need is a long, stressful process. Read through these frequently asked questions to see how easy reselling timeshare can be when you work with a smart and reliable timeshare resale company like Timeshare Sellers info. Don't wait any longer if you need to sell timeshares; we're ready when you are! If I Originally Purchased from a Resort Can I Resell My Timeshare? Yes! Regardless of when or where you purchased your timeshare, you are entitled to resell it. If I Still Have Financing on My Timeshare Can I Sell it? In order to resell timeshare which is still under financing, the pay off balance must be cleared before the timeshare sales process can be finalized. For instance, if you still owe $10,000 on your timeshare, you will need to take care of the remaining sum, otherwise the property deed cannot legally be transferred to the new owner. What Does Right of First Refusal (ROFR) Mean? When a seller and a buyer come to a purchase agreement, the resort at which the timeshare is located has the legal right to purchase the timeshare for the agreed amount. If the resort enforces their right, they will buy back the timeshare. If they waive their ROFR, the original sale can proceed. In either case, you – the timeshare reseller – will receive the same amount for the sale of your timeshare. Am I Required to Use a Real Estate Broker to Resell Timeshare? No! A timeshare is not a traditional piece of real estate, thus brokerage is optional. In most cases, there is no need to pay a commission for a real estate broker's services, when you can easily find a buyer yourself. Sell My Timeshare NOW can help you by advertising your timeshare on our dynamic website, and we can offer professional guidance through the whole resale process. For those who prefer it, broker assistance is available through our affiliate Timeshare Broker Services. We recommend their assistance to timeshare resellers who want as little as possible to do with the process of finding a buyer and settling on a sale price. Do I Need an Appraisal to Sell Timeshare? No, your timeshare property was not "appraised" when you purchased it, and it does not need to be appraised to be resold. If you are interested in the resale value of your timeshare, please take advantage of our free market value survey. Do I Need a Lawyer to Handle the Timeshare Closing? Maybe?I NOW recommend a licensed and bonded title company like Chicago Title Timeshare. This company executes the entire closing procedure – which includes deed preparation, escrow of funds, timeshare estoppel certificate, closing statements and recording fees – all for one low flat-rate. Any work done to the title is reviewed by a licensed attorney and is guaranteed to be precise. Can I Resell My Timeshare if I Lost My Deed? Yes! The closing company you choose can contact the county courthouse in which your timeshare is located to recover the deed. The fee for this service is usually around US $25. How Long Does a Timeshare Closing Take? Timeshare closings usually take between six (6) to ten (10) weeks from start to finish. What Happens to My Banked Time If I Sell? If you have deposited your week with an affiliated exchange company, that interval is no longer affiliated with the resort. So the sale of the resort timeshare doesn't affect banked weeks. The banked time can be used by you or included with the sale as an added incentive for buyers. How Long Will it Take to Resell My Timeshare? No one can accurately determine a specific length of time within which your property will sell. There are many factors that will influence the resale of your timeshare including location, resort quality, flexibility of usage, season, demand and, of course, price. Ready to Resell Your Timeshare? Corporate Timeshare Options When the words time share, or timeshare come up most people think of conventions in big resorts and free trips in return for sitting through a six hour presentation on timeshares. Desirable Timeshare Seasons and Locations Timeshares are anything but static. The whole nature of the industry revolves around ever changing circumstances. Be it the weeks that you own or the location something is always changing when it comes to a timeshare, and just like all other variable that play a part in owning a timeshare the price and demand of a timeshare are always in flux. Estimating The Value Of Your Timeshare
Estimating The Value Of Your Timeshare When purchasing a timeshare or if you own one already it's important to be able to estimate the true value of your property. Contractual prices often don't reflect the actual value of the property you are buying into. Often times this price takes into account appreciation in value of the time you will have control over it and whether or not future development will be made in the surrounding area. There are many reasons why one...

Exchanging Your Timeshare The beauty of timeshares is the ability to trade and sell your time at them. Do you have a project that qualifies for funding with the exception of a strong team?
We can supply global ‘shovel ready’ projects with an experienced project management team w/ track record. Sectors such as oil and gas, renewable energy (wind, solar, bio fuels) infrastructure (airports, hospitals, marinas, ports) large scale property developments, be it commercial, high rise, residential, industrial or leisure etc. are of interest. All countries with stable economies and Government will be considered.
We are seeking global projects in these SECTORS that require design build, funding referral:
marina, zoological park, eco-tourism, supermarket chain, convenience store, gas station, theme park, motorsport, restaurant, franchise, race track, indoor snow ski, snowdome, casino, amusement, hotels, transit, railroad, monorail, ship, seaport, ports, terminal, golf, shopping mall, airport, urban entertainment center, office complex, high rise, central business district, electric power, college, recreation, waterpark, movie production set, experiential museum, dinner theatre, hospital, other
Please note that in addition to hotel design/construction/management ; we do fully integrated resorts, CBD mixed use developments, short term, long term and permanent residential, family entertainment centers, race tracks, retail, commercial, and office complexes, marinas, ships, boats, steam locomotive, tourist railroads, full infrastructure including waste management, paving, Light Rail Transport and Swiss mono-rail transportation. We also have golf course design and exclusive night golf system. Our networked associates have a proven track record on all aspects of construction and operation which includes theme park design and development.
HOTEL MANAGEMENT
Our consortium is not only equal to the task, but far superior and without equal. Whilst we are low key we don't seek nor do we want the limelight or high profile publicity.
The major differences we operate under are that we do not demand franchise fees, do not irrevocably lock the owner into excessive long term contracts which are not fair or equitable on both parties. We do not demand mandatory high contributions to pool sales & marketing which is ineffective by not benefiting an individual property. Each property retains its individual identity and uniqueness. Standard operating procedures [SOPs] are not generic but are written specifically for each property. We have a depth of senior management from the "top luxury chains" hospitality from the heart, providing a more cost effective, much more efficient operation.
Our service has a competitive edge on all other management companies, provides greater guest satisfaction, loyalty and repeat guests, higher staff satisfaction and stability resulting in a higher ROI for the owner.
The point I emphasis, is that whilst we are most efficient, cost effective and amenable to negotiation, we are in the luxury market, do not cut corners, do not deviate from our terms and conditions nor do we drop our fees or standards. If an owner wishes to proceed, they must provide an up-front advance on costs to mobilize or we just do not proceed.
Most sincerely yours in hospitality,
Mansdorf Family Trust/Sherri Johnson-Krol, Director general NY Chapter

Where are you hiding Carlos Slim? Don't Call it Xenophobia and Don't Call it Racism
[This post was originaly written on September 28th, when ICE was conducting raids on employers of illegal immigrants.]
Fox news is covering the recent ICE raids on McDonalds (and other companies I think), and the accusations by Hispanic community leaders (who decides who a "community leader" is anyway?) that these raids are somehow "racist.'
I can sympathize with the plight of an immigrant who is in this country seeking a better life and seeking to provide for his/her family. Having lived in 3 different Central American countries as a missionary, so I can also sympathize with the plight of Latin Americans who are not able to provide for their families. I certainly can sympathize with the hardship created by corrupt governments in Latin America. BUT...and this is a MAJOR BUT...every action has consequences. Entering our country illegally has legal consequences, including deportation. This is standard. It may not have been enforced in the past, but not so anymore. Why is this suddenly a surprise? Everyone knows it was bound to happen eventually, and every illegal immigrant knows that this is always a possibility.
Now it is, and thank goodness some of our government officials are starting to do something about it. If you are here illegally, consider the price. This is not a race issue -- it is a simple "rule of law" issue.
Is there racism out there -- sure! I've seen it and experienced it myself. But considering the reasonable public outcry by a vast majority of citizens -- those who our government serves -- it is only logical that our government agencies (ICE) would start doing their job (they should have been doing for along time...). I wouldn't call that racism. I would call it the restoration of the rule of law.
My advice: If you are an illegal immigrant in the US, start planning a way to go back home. Get some savings, and work up a business plan to start a small business back home. I realize life in the US is so much better than in Latin America, but until citizens -- until Hondurans, Costa Ricans, Nicaraguans, Guatemalans, Mexicans, and others do something -- start protesting and pressuring THEIR governments to open up their markets, and provide business-friendly economies -- nothing is going to change. But here in the US, we still have to have a country of laws. This is, after all, what makes our economy so strong, so effective and so productive.
Ultimately, if the United States allow illegal immigrants to freely falsify identity papers, social security IDs and tax documents, this would weaken the integrity and trust we place in our systems--the very economy they are benefiting from.
I'm sorry...I really am, but that's how it has to be. I don't hate immigrants--my father is one. I don't fear Hispanics -- I am one and I am friends with many Hispanics or Latinos. This has nothing to do with it.
So, don't call it xenophobia and don't call it racism. No one is buying that around here... Buy this website domain.. Malibu Oceanfront Investing said... March 09, 2012 @ 9:42:33 PM EST Real Estate News & Commentary by Stan Krol Entrepreneur, March 9th, 2012. Foreclosures reached a high in February, the last month data was available, when 4,169 high–end homes were somewhere in the foreclosure process; having received a foreclosure notice, had an auction scheduled or had ownership taken over by the lender. That’s a 121% increase from a year ago. The deterioration comes just as housing experts say that foreclosures in the low and middle ends of the housing market are showing signs of stabilization. Heated pools, ocean views and media rooms are not what most people would expect to find in a foreclosed property, but more high–end homes – priced at more than a million dollars – have been falling into the hands of banks this year. Foreclosures of homes worth more than $1 million began increasing at the end of 2011, according to data provided to CNBC.com by foreclosure tracking website RealtyTrac. Owners of expensive homes "were able to stave off foreclosure longer," says independent real estate analyst Jack McCabe, CEO of McCabe Research and Consulting in South Florida. "Lower–end homeowners were the first ones to see the escalating foreclosures, because they generally do not have the cash reserves or credit available that the luxury homeowners do." They had the ability to take their credit cards and pull out thousands of dollars, while the lower–end buyers were already tapped out. Data show that may be the case around the country. The 90–day delinquency rate on home loans worth more than a million dollars hit a high in February at 13.3%, above the overall rate of 8.6%, according to real estate data firm First American CoreLogic. Foreclosure proceedings generally start after a homeowner has been at least 90 days late on a mortgage payment, experts say. One difference in the high–end market is that lenders are willing to do more to head off foreclosure by renegotiating the loan or accepting a short-sale transaction, which is essentially a last–ditch effort. "Lenders are far more likely to go the short–sale route," says Andrew LePage, an analyst at real estate research firm DataQuick. "There’s a lot more money at stake, and maintenance can be high if a foreclosure just sits there." A $1.15 million condominium in Chicago in the landmark Palmolive Building was initially offered as a short sale, but after a buyer did not materialize, it’s now owned by the bank, says Janice Corley, founder of Sudler Sotheby’s International Realty, which is currently listing it. Mitt all the way now said... April 10, 2012 @ 10:43:38 PM EST 2 hours ago Santorum adviser insists he will rally behind Romney Posted by CNN's Ashley Killough (CNN) – John Brabender, an adviser to Rick Santorum, gave more details Tuesday night about the hours leading up to Santorum’s announcement to suspend his presidential campaign. In an interview on CNN’s “John King, USA,” Brabender said he called Mitt Romney’s campaign manager, Matt Rhoades, Monday night to relay the news that Santorum would leave the race the following day. – Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker “We had a great conversation. We expressed that the senator would be getting out and that we do want to help the Romney campaign,” Brabender told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King. “It was suggested that we have the two candidates talk to each other, which they did this morning.” He added that Romney recommended to Santorum the two meet soon to talk about “ways in which Rick Santorum could help.” Responding to questions about Santorum not mentioning Romney in his exit speech, Brabender cautioned people against reading too much into it. “Rick felt that it was very important to have a narrative that shares why he was suspending his campaign and all the good that the campaign did, and also make it clear that Rick Santorum is going to be a passionate fighter and a loud voice for conservative causes,” Brabender said. While the rival candidates often engaged in scathing attacks as they battled for delegates, Brabender maintained Santorum would ultimately rally behind Romney in the general election. “Rick has been very clear from Day One that he would unify behind whoever the candidate is, the Republican nominee, because they certainly are a much stronger and better hope for America than Barack Obama,” Brabender said. “And he will do that right now with Mitt Romney.” Also see: Poll: Nearly three-quarters of Republicans see Romney as nominee Romney: I speak with Gingrich more than Santorum ,Mitt Romney app, Stan Krol CIO/SEO campaign pulls negative ad while Santorum halts campaigning Filed under:GOP 2012 • Rick Santorum We recommend Romney takes big lead in new poll CNN Political Ticker Bristol Palin to Obama: Call me CNN Political Ticker Remembering 'disgusting, rebellious' era of trading cards: 'Garbage Pail Kids' CNN Living Santorum: Louisiana vote shows the race goes on CNN Politics Caregiving for loved ones the 'new normal' for boomers CNN Living Will Facebook ruin Instagram? Press Release: Texted mobile political donation rulings said...
April 15, 2012 @ 6:56:43 PM EST
Sunday, April 15, 2012 Blog Resources About new rulings/asking for new laws Democrat, Republican political collectors ask FEC to OK texted contributions By Stanley(Stan)Krol Entrepreneur CEO/Texted.mobi created this idea, March 11,2009, unlike super PACS, which under federal law are not supposed to coordinate with canididates. Apr 11 2012 5:32 a.m. The Next idea Mr. Krol has is to try this method with "Bundling" donations. Bundlers are typically well-connected business and banking("Banksters")executives who tap their professional and social media networks for HIGH ROLLER Contributions from wealthy supporters and lobbyists groups per federal laws. The economy may be largely lackluster but the political sector is so flush with cash it appears on the verge of creating a whole new profession: Campaign contribution brokers. That would be the result if the Federal Election Commission approves a bipartisan request that it made public late Wednesday afternoon. Filing on behalf of two campaign consulting groups, one Democrat and one Republican, the blue-chip Washington law firm Arendt Fox urges the FEC to approve a system for texting small contributions to political campaigns that would allow middlemen to collect as much as 50 cents on every donated dollar. The brokers are part of an ingenious and complex financial mechanism designed to overcome objections the FEC raised two years ago, when it shot down an effort to win approval of texted contributions, hotly sought after by political campaigns at the time because of the large sums raised for south Asian tsunami relief through cell phone donations. One of the issues the FEC raised was the amount of time it would take for campaigns to get the money: the commission requires the funds be transfered within 10 days, a deadline that might not be met if the campaigns had to wait for a donor's cell phone bill to be paid. Brokers would solve the problem, the political consultants say, by "buying" the pledge from the campaign and providing cash immediately, then collecting the money from the donors. But because of the uncertainty about whether donors would make good on their offers, there would be a premium: The middlemen would take anywhere from a 30 percent to 50 percent cut under the plan outlined in the filing to the FEC. One company that is ready to provide such a service, m-Qube, joined the request to the FEC. Brett Kappel, one of the lawyers who wrote the brief, says m-Qube already serves as a phone donation "aggregator" for charities. The other two firms requesting approval of texted contributions are ArmourMedia, which lists the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee among its clients, and Red Blue T LLC, described in the letter to the FEC as "a political consulting firm whose principals have advised Republican presidential and congressional campaigns." Individuals would be limited to giving $50 or less a month to any one political committee via text. Kappel predicted that most donations would come in amounts of $10. Supporters of the proposal argue its a way to bring the political money game into the digital arena and to engage young people. "Younger people like my children live on their phones," Kappel said. He added that President Obama's campaign, with its large database of small donors, could be a big beneficiary of a favorable decision by the FEC. "I should think they would want this request to go through," he said. The FEC has 60 days to issue a draft ruling on the request.
